That’s right; Oak Leaf is coming back to Arrowhead District! Whether you’re an experienced junior leader or you’ve just been elected to your first office, Oak Leaf has something to offer you! Don’t miss this exciting event! What is Oak Leaf? Oak Leaf is short for “Circle Ten Council Oak Leaf Training Course”. It’s full weekend course designed to provide you, the participant, with the basic leadership skills and to prepare you for advanced leadership training through the Golden Acorn program. It will cover a variety of topics, including: Troop structure, the leader positions and how they interrelate. We will explore the purpose and function of the Patrol Leader's Council. We will learn about how to manage conflict in the Patrol. We will look at the material from Troop Program Resources and Troop Program Features, and learn how it can assist you in your leadership position. We will discuss the importance of developing the habit of evaluating the results of your efforts in the tasks you perform. Just as important, we will do our best to make sure that everybody has fun! Why should I participate in Oak Leaf? You should attend Oak Leaf if you have not yet received such training but are either recently elected to a troop leadership position or expect to be in the near future. It will provide you with tools to make you a better leader. It will be an opportunity to have fun and possibly learn something.
