Arrowhead District offers several training opportunities throughout the year. Click the name of the training below to get more details and to sign up online. There is a nominal cost for most of these sessions beyond Fast Start and Youth Protection.

If your schedule can't accomodate these dates, you may wish to look into another local district's training offerings. We welcome our neighboring districts to our training sessions, as well. Click here for the current Circle 10 Council listing of other district's training.

For those courses offered online, you will need to go to https://scoutnet.scouting.org/elearning and create an account. You will use your registration card with your Person ID number on it for your account. You keep the same number throughout scouting, so you can use any registration card to find it. IF THE FOLLOWING LINKS DO NOT WORK FOR YOU, you can register by email. Send the following information to . You will get a confirmation email that it has been received, and another email about a week before the event:

Name, Unit, Your Unit Position (Den Leader, Committee Member, etc), Address, Phone Number, Email, Course you wish to take. For Oak Leaf, please include Scout's age, rank, and troop position. Additionally, for Den Chief, please include whether or not you already have a pack or den to work with. For both Oak Leaf and Den Chief, you'll need a recommendation from your Scoutmaster.

Fast Start

Anytime

* *   * * Online. Click on the text with the name of the program you're involved in and your Fast Start option/s will be listed. Plan to take this each time your role changes and there is a Fast Start training for it.
Youth Protection Training Anytime * *   * * Online. Click on the word General, then look under Supplemental Training. Youth Protection must be taken by all adults working with Scouts, including parents who are helping.
New Leader Essentials

You only have to take this once!

It is conveniently held at the same place (LDS Stake Center in McKinney, 2801 Eldorado) on the same night as Roundtable, starting at 7 PM.

Cost is $3 at the door.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Late October 2008 TBA

  *   *   Required, along with Boy Scout Leader Specific Training, for Scoutmasters. Assistant Scoutmasters, and Venturing Advisors to be fully trained and wear their Trained patch. Cost is $25.
Den Chief Training

September 2008 TBA

    *     This training is for Boy Scouts who wish to help with Cub Scouts as a Den Chief, along with their den's Cubmaster. $12 includes the handbook and the position patch.
Oak Leaf

Late October 2008 TBA

    *     For Boy Scout Youth. $25
OWL (Outdoor Webelos Leader)

October 2008 TBA

*         Bear and Webelos Adult Leaders. $25
BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)

October 2008 TBA

*     *   One adult in the pack attending the campout must be trained for a pack to camp. $10 8AM-1PM - Lunch included.
Additional training is often offered during Roundtable, the first Thursday of each month. Roundtable is held at 7:30 PM at the LDS Stake Center, 2801 Eldorado, McKinney, TX.
